27 Nov 11 Three Online Jobs You’ll Love

Being able to earn a living while working from home is one of the biggest advantages of the Internet era.  While there are many people who will take advantage of you with offers of false jobs and get-rich-quick schemes, here are 3 real jobs that you can do online.

  1. eBay seller - A lot of people earn part-time or full-time incomes as eBay sellers.  This might mean scouting for stuff you can resell (such as antiques and collectibles from estate sales and thrift stores), making stuff to sell on eBay (or even Etsy), or earning commissions by selling other people’s items for them.  You can even make some money selling your own things, such as collectibles you no longer collect.  Remember, though, to factor in your fees as a seller when figuring out how much you need to earn for each item in order to make your business profitable.
  2. Freelance writer - Writing for companies online is another way to make money, and this one has fewer expenses (and no shipping required!).  If you have a college degree, especially in English or journalism, or if you have experience with business writing or some other form of writing, you can often get gigs maintaining company blogs or writing online marketing materials such as articles, press releases, and blog posts.  If you don’t have this background but want to get started as a writer, consider taking some online writing classes to give you the education and experience you need.
  3. Virtual assistant - A virtual assistant basically does all of the work that a regular secretary or receptionist would do: making appointments, handling email communication, and so on.  Your responsibilities may vary based on who is hiring you and what they need, but depending on your clients’ needs, you may be able to work for several at once, maximizing your earnings.

There are, of course, many other online jobs that offer real employment and real wages, but be cautious when you are searching for work online.  There are a lot of scams out there!  Your best bet is to research any job you are considering — do an online search and check for information on the employer.  And always steer clear of get-rich-quick schemes or anything else that sounds too good to be true!
